How to use FunnelCockpit

Answer a specific question with an A/B test

Example: Do visitors understand your offer better when the headline describes the problem or the outcome?

Create a controlled page variation

Duplicate the relevant page as a split-test variation and change only the opening. Keep the form, offer and remaining content identical so you can interpret the difference.

Example workflow

A: Not enough relevant inquiries? B: Help prospects see whether your offer fits their needs.

Page builder

Read visitors and completions together

Set a conversion goal that fits your funnel. Review visitors and conversions for both variations. A small number of completions is not enough for a reliable decision.

Example workflow

Measure the same action in both variations, such as reaching the thank-you page after an inquiry.

A/B tests

A complete worked example

Which headline brings relevant enquiries?

This example test changes only the message. The offer, form and goal stay the same.

A fictional example to recreate. Adapt services, copy and details to your own offer.

  1. Create two versions

Duplicate the page and change the headline. Keep other content comparable to answer a clear question.

    Example content

A: Plan your first online course. B: Turn your expertise into a clear course plan. Unchanged: Offer, image, form and call to action.

  2. Split traffic and define the goal

Add the URLs to the split test, choose equal weighting and configure the same conversion goal.

    Example content

Distribution: Version A 50%, version B 50%. Goal: Thank-you page after a successful enquiry. Check: Your own enquiry should trigger the goal correctly.

  3. Assess results and enquiry quality together

Track visitors and conversions over a sufficient period. Consider enquiry quality before adopting a preferred version.

    Example content

Evaluation question: Which version leads to relevant consultation requests more often? Next test: After the headline, compare a different image or a shorter introduction.

Tracking & A/B tests

The features behind your result.

Start with a specific question

For example, test whether a clear outcome generates more enquiries than a general headline. Focus that test on the message and keep the offer and audience comparable. This makes differences easier to interpret.

Build pages, then connect your variants

Create page variants in the FunnelBuilder and add their URLs to your split test. Configure the visitor weighting. Choose the conversion you want to measure and check that both variants record it correctly.

Choose a metric that matches your offer

For a lead magnet, the goal is a signup; for consulting, it is a relevant enquiry. Define the goal that moves your business forward and compare variants against that action. Optimise for the results that matter to you.

Interpret results with enough data

Track visitors and conversions over comparable periods. With enough data, you can identify which variant better supports your goal. Use the findings for your next test and improve your funnel step by step.

At a glance

An A/B test compares two page variants against the same conversion goal. In FunnelCockpit, you can configure variants, visitor weighting and a goal, then evaluate the results. Unlimited split tests are included in Lite, Standard and Business. Mouse tracking is an additional Business feature.

Your questions. Clear answers.

Are A/B tests included in every plan?

Yes. Lite, Standard and Business include unlimited split tests. Compare headlines, offers or page layouts and use the results to develop your funnels further.

Can I compare different landing pages?

Yes. Add the variant URLs to your split test and define their weighting and conversion goal. You can create and edit the landing pages in the FunnelBuilder.

How many visitors do I need for a meaningful test?

Plan your test around your current conversion rate and the difference you want to detect. Run both versions over a comparable period and collect enough visitors and conversions. Build a reliable basis for your decision.

How do A/B tests and mouse tracking work together?

A/B tests show how different versions perform against your conversion goal. Mouse tracking in Business also helps you understand how people use your pages. Use those insights to develop ideas for your next test.
